James Deaton Obituary
Mr. James Homer Deaton, age 85, Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 
2010 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Deaton 
worked in agriculture as a poultry worker. Mr. Deaton is the widower of Mary 
Ruth Edenfield Deaton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 
at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with burial following in the 
Sand Hill Cemetery. Survivors include: sons: Audie (Lisa) Deaton, Douglas, GA; 
Michael (Ina Kay) Deaton, Waycross, GA; brothers: William Deaton, Pearson, GA; 
Jimmy Deaton, West Green, GA; sisters: Edna N. Hill, Macon, GA, Irene Corbitt, 
Broxton, GA, Martha Highsmith, Pearson, GA, Azzalee Corbitt, Douglas, GA; 4 
grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special 
caregiver, Mary Frances Corbitt. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 
October 7, 2010 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral 
Home is in charge of the arrangements.
