All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Kay Music Mr. Aldine Kirkland, age 75, of Dublin, GA., passed away Sat., May 21, 1994, at the Carl Vinson Veteran Affairs Center, Dublin, GA., following an extended illness. Mr. Kirkland, a native of Coffee Co., GA., was born Mar. 10, 1919, the son of the late Will and Nancy McGovern Kirkland. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. Survivors include: 2 sisters, Maxine Harrell of Broxton, and Geraldine Holley of Valdosta; 2 nieces, Nancy Sheffield of Broxton, and Sharon Mullins of Reynolds, GA.; 1 great-niece, Janine James of Reynolds. Funeral services were held at 5pm, Sunday, May 22, 1994, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, with Rev. T.L. Adams officiating. Special music was provided by Carolyn Wright, Faye Adams and Chris Purvis with Bonnie Musgove accompanying at the piano. Interment followed at the Reedy Branch Church Cem. near Broxton. Active pallbearers were: Clarence Smith, Norris Sheffield, Mike Sheffield, Jack Dampier, Robert Palmer and Edmund 'Nig' Kight. Honorary pallbearers were: Billy Mack Denton, M.J. Lott, C.S. Mosley, and Lester Miller. Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
