Ruth Merritt Obituary
Annie Ruth Merritt, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 
Summers Landing after an extended illness. Mrs. Merritt was a member of DeBerry 
Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was born on July 19, 1924 to the late James 
Leonard and Annie Roe Ella Day Fussell. She was preceded in death by husband: 
Thomas Amos Merritt and a daughter: Tressy Merritt Funeral Services will be held 
on Friday, October 29, 2010 in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with 
burial in the New Hope Church Cemetery. Survivors include: daughters: Lunelle 
Beecher, Augusta, GA, Carolyn Bryson, Habersham County, GA and Faye Merritt 
Nugent, Douglas, GA; son: James Merritt, Broxton, GA; seven grandchildren; 11 
great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 28, 
2010 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in 
charge of the arrangements.
