Douglas Enterprise - March 23, 2014
 Mrs. Betty Ruth Merritt, age 91 of Douglas, GA. And formerly of Yulee, FL, 
passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
 She was born in Douglas, where her parents Grover Cleveland Lee and Sarah Ann 
Grantham Lee, along with their family, owned and operated L&L Marked on South 
Madison Avenue.
 Mrs. Merritt was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Order of the 
Eastern Star, Ezerah Lodge #67 of Jacksonville, FL.
 She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roy Merritt, her parents 
Grover C. and Sarah Ann Lee, brother, Roger E. Lee and sister, Agnes Ash. She is 
survived by her brother, Grover Cleveland Lee, Jr. and sister, Dorothy “Ruby” 
Vaughan both of Augusta, GA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
 Visitation for friends will be 6-9 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Sims 
Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., on Saturday, 
March 22, 2014, with Brother Gary Carter officiating.
 Interment will follow at the Grantham Cemetery.
 Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Wayne Ash, David Merritt, Daniel 
Merritt, Nathaniel Merritt, Ronald Mann, and great nephew, Rick Ash.
 Sims Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
