Marjorie Newbern Obituary
Marjorie Elizabeth Newbern, age 70, passed away at Tift Regional Medical Center 
on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, following an extended illness. Ms. Newbern was born 
on April 19, 1940 to the late Pleamon and Elma Metts Newbern in Lakeland, 
Georgia. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 4:00 
p.m. in the Reedy Branch Church Cemetery. Survivors include: Lifelong Companion: 
Richard Payne, Broxton, GA; sons: Steven (Linda) Gomez, Broxton, GA; Normand 
Craig LePage, Ambrose, GA; daughter: Deborah (Lane) Bailey, Douglas, GA; 
sisters: Dicy Smith, TN, Carolyn Mills, Lakeland, GA, Linda Sue Teixeira, 
Douglas, GA, Rhonda Newell, Willacoochee, GA; grandchildren: Tara Lee, Crystal 
Teixeria, Nicole Gomez, Amelia LePage, Caltin Bailey; great grandchildren: 
Austin Smith, Aryn Lee, Alyssa Lee, Joshua Ellis, Allie Powell. The family will 
receive friends on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims 
Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
