Mrs. Northrup was born on September 14, 1949 in Douglas, GA to the late Eston Hutt Hutto and Ruth Jowers Hutto. Mrs. Northrup was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. She was the fir first female athletic director for the federal government and initiated the mic microsoft for physical requirements for the federal government and started the Spe Special Olympics for the Dover Air Force Base. Survivors include husband, Lawrence Erwin Northrup of Fernandina Beach, FL; da daughter, Angela "Jack" Bowden of Fitzgerald, GA; five grandchildren, Taylor Bo Bowden, Storm Bowden, Kirsten Bowden, Kristina Bowden and Sara Bowden all of Fi Fitzgerald, GA; sisters, Carolyn (Carroll) Floyd of Douglas, GA, Linda (Charles Ba Baugher of Harrington, DE and Maudie (Joe) Hanna of Douglas, GA; special angel fr friend, Phyllis Jackson of Fernandina Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel o of Sims Funeral Home with Father Paul O'Connell officiating. Music was f furnished for the service by the Cady Sisters "Beulah Land" and "I'll Fly Away" w with Bonnie Musgrove playing the piano. Active pallbearers were Mark Northrup, James Ryan Northrup, Storm Bowden, Charles Russ, Charles Russ, Ryan Hanna and Chris Brown. Entombment followed at the Dixie followed at the Dixie Mausoleum in the D Douglas City Cemetery with military honors provided by personnel of Moody Air F Force Base. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
