Spivey Dies following Extended Illness Mrs. Ada Spivey, Route 2 Nicholls, died Sunday, May 24, following an extended illness. Daughter of the late Charles Lewis Carver and Sally Wright Carver, she was 72. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 26, at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Douglas with Elder George Freeman officiating. Interment followed in Carver Cemetery. Music was rendered by Mrs. Lera Roberts, Mrs. Doris Adams and Mrs Lois Mills. Survivors are her husband Mr. Leonard Spivey, Nicholls; 5 daughters: Mrs Walter Vining, Adel; Mrs. Clayton Bowen, Nicholls; Mrs. Legrand Meeks, Douglas; Mrs. Jesse Peavy, Salt Lake City Utah; Mrs. Elbert Livingston, Dublin; 4 Sons: Harley Spivey, Douglas; Cleo Spivey, Douglas; C. L. Spivey, Fernandina Beach; Ronnie Spivey, Nicholls. 2 Sisters: Mrs. Alma Vining, New York, N.Y; Mrs. Martha Ann Walker, Jacksonville Fla; 1 Brother: Melvin Carver, Jacksonville Fla. 38 grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Grandsons: Jerry Spivey, Ronnie Meeks, W. J. Bowen, Calvin Bowen, Lemar Spivey, Buddy Spivey.
