VINING – 1909 – 1967 The Rev. Walter L. Vining 58, of Adel Ga, died Wednesday in the Adel Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The Rev. Mr. Vining, a retired minister was very well known and respected in this area. Mr. Vining was born in Coffee County and had lived in Cook County for 20 years. He was the son of Owen Frank Vining and Pearl Woodard Vining. Mr. Vining was a member of Tanner Baptist Church of Coffee County. Survivors include his wife: Lela Spivey Vining, 1 son: Gene Vining of Douglasville, 1 daughter: Betty Stewart of Adel; 4 brothers: Earl Vining of Pearson, Leon Vining of Ambrose, Woodard Vining of Alaska, and Sonny Vining of Adel. 5 sisters: Maysie Leavens of Adel, Sue Nell Vining of Jacksonville Fla, May Ellen Sanders of Ft Pierce Fla, Margaret Howard of Ft Pierce Fla, and Mary Harper of Douglas. 2 Grandchildren. Funeral services are to be held Friday at 3 pm at Tanner Baptist Church in Coffee County. The Rev. Fred Hesters of Nashville, and the Rev. John Futch of Homerville are to conduct the rites.
