Douglas Enterprise - November 10, 2011
 Cody Brice Pope, 16, Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 f
from the injuries of a motor vehicle accident. Cody was born in Douglas, GA on D
December 3, 1994. He was a member of Satilla Baptist Church and he played g
guitar in H20 Youth Band at church. Mr. Pope was a junior at Citizens Christian A
Academy, Class of 2013 and he played on the CCA baseball team which won the G
GISA Class 2A State Championship and Regions Championship in 2009.
 Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Covenant 
Christian Church with Rev. Gregory Pope and Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Blake 
Hendley gave a eulogy. Music was provided by Tyler Harper, pianist/soloist, who 
sang “Our God” and “I Can Only Imagine.” 
 Interment followed in the Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery near Wray, GA.
 Pallbearers wer Justin Brown, Michael Brown, Theron Lott, Dylan Ellis, Connor Fara
Farabow, Cole Harper, Cody Youghn, Blaine Cook, Colton Carver, Alex Wills, Etha
Ethan Carver.
 Honorary pallbearers were CCA Jr. Class.
 Survivors include parents, William and Loye Pope, Douglas, GA; twin brother, Ca
Casey Pope, Douglas, GA; paternal grandparents, Clifford and Shirley Pope, Ax
Axson, GA; maternal grandparents, W.A. and Amelia Carver, Wray, GA; paternal gr
great grandmother, Annie Lee Pope; maternal great grandmother, Wawena Vickers; se
several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. 
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
