 Mrs. Mona Faye Simmons, 77, of Coffee County, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday,
December 
December 31, 2013 at Shady Acres in Douglas, GA.
 Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Paulk Fu
Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Huey Nichols and Elder Edward
M
Edward McIntyre officiating.
 Interment followed in the Irwinville Cemetery.
 The family received friends Wednesday, Jan 1, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m.at the funera
funeral home in Fitzgerald.
 Mrs. Simmons was born march 16, 1936 in Ocilla, to the late Grady Paul and Mary 
Mary Mildred Godwin Nicholls. She graduated from Irwin County High School and recei
received vocational training in business. She lived in Irwin County most of her life

life and later resided in several cities, including Darien, Metter, Douglas and
Lanca
Lancaster, SC. Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
 She is survived by daughters, Connie and Allen McCarty of Douglas and Judith and 
and James Adams of Fitzgerald; son, Michael Simmons of Wrightsville; five gran
grandchildren, James and Kristine Ginn of Canada, Lonnie and Talinda Adams of Vald
Valdosta, Sara Adams of Fitizgerald, Matthew McCarty of Douglas and several niec
nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was prec
preceded in death by her husband, James E. Simmons; daughter, Cynthia Simmons and 
and sisters, Carmen Jane Vickers and Mary Paula Paulk.
 Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, was in charge of the arrangements.
