Vera Smith Obituary
Mrs. Vera Smith, age 85, of Broxton, GA passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 
at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA following an extended illness. 
Mrs. Smith was born on August 25, 1925 to the late Mackie and Daisy Rowell 
Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Creek Holiness Church. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Josh Daniel Smith. Funeral services will be 
held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Sims Funeral 
Home with burial following in the Rocky Creek Holiness Church Cemetery. 
Survivors include: son: Jimmy Smith, Broxton, GA; daughters: Virginia Haynes, 
Hazlehurst, GA, Betty Harper, Douglas, GA and Jean Carol Rawlins, Broxton, GA; 
brothers: Maxwell Smith, Fred Smith, Wilbert Smith and J. H. Smith all of 
Douglas, GA; sister: Dorothy Lott, Biloxi, MS; 17 grandchildren, numerous great 
grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. The family will receive 
friends on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims 
Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
