James Spivey
May 31, 1933 - October 18, 2010 

James William Spivey, age 77, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, October 18, 
2010 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Spivey 
was a farmer and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Spivey was preceded 
in death by his wife: Laverne Vining Spivey and son: Ruben James Spivey. Funeral 
services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sims 
Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Cumorah Cemetery. Survivors 
include: daughters: Rita Ward, Virginia Kay Spivey, Douglas, GA, Mary Katy 
Palmer, Broxton, GA, Debra Dochterman, Waycross, GA; sisters: Seyene Anderson, 
Pearson, GA, Pearlie Privett, Earesteen Dibble and Ann Dibble, Douglas, GA; 
Betty Dickerson, Jacksonville, FL; 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 
great great grandchildren and several niece and nephews. The family will receive 
friends on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 and Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 4:00 
p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the 
arrangements.
