H. Brown, mother of Mr. John H. Phillips, just reported, died on Friday morning before her son was buried. She was about 60 years of age and in feeble health, and it was thought that the shock of her son's death hurried hers. The funeral took place at New Hope church, at the same time of that of her son's, on Saturday afternoon. twice, and was the mother of six children by her first husband. Five of them are as follows: P. P/ Phillips and S. D. Phillips, of Ambrose, and Mrs. W. J. Harris, of Douglas, and Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Jowers, of near Ambrose. Mrs. H. F. Brown, deceased, was a daughter of the deceased. Mrs. Brown had lived in the community in which she died for a number of years, and everybody loved and respected her for the life she lived. She had a host of friends, and was always ready to respond in any way to the suffering of her neighbors.
