He had been in ill health for several years and since the first of this year he had been in serious condition. Mr. Wheless was 66 years old. The Wheless family moved from Nashville to Douglas about 18 years ago, and for a number of years had been assistant postmaster in Douglas. Before leaving here he served as the postmaster for Nashville. The deceased was an uncle of S.A. Wheless of Nashville. Mrs. Wheless is a sister of Mrs. W.E. Morris of Nashville. Funeral services and burial are to be held in Douglas this afternoon at 4 o’clock. Surviving besides his widow are the following children: Mrs. Herman Barnes, Miss Mary Martha Wheless, Griffin Wheless and Henry Wheless of Douglas, Mrs. Virgil Griner of Fitzgerald and Miss Louell Wheless of Atlanta.
