From WILL Book"A" - Coffee County Probate Office Submitted by Melody Moore McCook (g-g-g-granddaughter of Mathew McGovern) State of Georgia Coffee County In The name OF God amen I Mathew McGovern of said State and County being of advanced age but of Sound and disposing mind and memory knowing that I must Shortly depart this life deem it right and proper both as respects my family and myself that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me I do therefore make this my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all others by me heretofore made. First I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like maner Suitable to my circumstance and condition in life. My Soul I Trust Shall return to rest with God who gave it as I hope for Salvation through the merits and antonement of the blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Secondly I desier and direct that all of my just debts be paid by my Executor herein after named and appointed. Thirdly, it is my desire that one fourth of my property known as mine be the ditributed shear of my beloved wife Elizer to be held and used as her own during of her life and then divided eqaly between her children. Fourthly I give and bequeath and devise to my son Thomas one fourth of all of my property being equaled with his Mother to be his and to hold and dispose of at Will by him. Fifthly, I give bequeath and desire to my daughter Frances Fussell one fourth of all of my property being equaal with his Mother and brother to be own and held by her during her life and to be at her death divided between the heirs of her body. if their be no heirs at the time of her death Said property to revert back to the nearest of kin. Sixthly, I giv and bequeath and devise to my three grand children Mary John and Thomas McGovern the remaining fourth of all of my property to be held and Kept for their benefit by my son Thomas as Gardian and Given off to each one his or her distributed as they become of age. Seventhly, I hereby constitute and appoint my Son Thomas McGovern Executor of this my last Will and Testament this July the 16th 1874 his Mathew x McGovern(L.S.) mark Signed Sealed and published by Mathew McGovern as his last Will and Testament in the presents of us the undesigned Who Subscribed our names hereto in the presents of Said Testator at his Special instance and request and in the presence of each other this July, the 16th 1874.
