FOLDS John W. Folds was born ca 1833 in Meriweather County, Georgia and died about 1873 in Meriweather County, Georgia. He served in the Civil War 1862, was prisoner of war at Greensboro, North Carolina April 26, 1865 (Muster Roll of Co. F.), 41st Regiment, CSA, Meriweather County, Georgia, "Howard Infantry", this company also known as old Company H. He was the son of David D. Folds who was born about 1806 in Jasper County, Georgia, and his wife, Nancy Carden. David D. Folds had volunteered May 18, 1861 in the Civil War and was discharged July 15, 1861 with a disability from war wounds (Muster Roll of Company D, 8th Regiment, CSA, Meriweather County, Georgia, "Echols Guards". He died in Meriweather County the latter part of the same year he was discharged. John W. Folds was the grandson of John B. Folds, born about 1772 and who had married September 26, 1792 in Columbia County, Georgia to Mary Wilkins, though he had previously been married, first wife unknown. The wife of John W. Folds was Priscilla Elizabeth Folds who was born October 4, 1843 in Heard County, Georgia. She was the daughter of William W. (Bill) Folds who was born 1804 in Jasper County, Georgia and his wife, Frances J.G. Golden who was born 1827 in Monroe County, Georgia. Frances was the daughter of Abram Golden, born 1790 - 1800 and his wife, Elizabeth, born 1797 in South Carolina. When Rev. Benjamin Marion Weaver (Priscilla Elizabeth's son-in-law) moved his family to Colquitt County from Carroll County sometime after 1910, Priscilla Elizabeth moved with them. She died November 22, 1924 in Worth County, Georgia and is buried at Union Church Cemetery near Doerun, Georgia. John W. and Priscilla Elizabeth Folds had seven known children: 1. James F. Folds (called Jimmie and Jerry), born August 14, 1857 in Meri- weather County, Georgia, died October 15, 1939, married Sarah A., born January 12, 1856, died December 8, 1939, both buried at Goshen Con- gregational Methodist Church, Glenloch, Georgia in Heard County. 2. Mary Frances Folds, born 1864 in Meriweather County, Georgia. 3. John W. Jackson Folds, born April 22, 1866 in Meriweather County, Georgia, died May 8, 1939 in Heard County, Georgia, married Luetta (or Luella), last name unknown, born July 22, 1860, died July 22, 1930, both buried at New Springs Congregational Methodist Church near Roosterville Community, Roopville, Georgia in Carroll County. 4. Nancy Lee (Nan) Sarah Folds, born 1868 in Meriweather County, Georgia, married (l) Willie James Parker, married (2) Frank Gill. 5. Mollie Folds, born 1870 in Meriweather County, Georgia. 6. Julia A.D. Folds, born October 12, 1871 in Meriweather County, Georgia, died July 9, 1950, buried at Oak Hill Cemetery which is North of Newnan in Coweta County, Georgia. She married Angus Weaver, born June, 1848. 7. Georgia Lee Ann Folds, born January 22, 1873 in Meriweather County, Georgia, died March 26, 1958 in Colquitt County, Georgia, married Rev.
