BENJAMIN MARION WEAVER Rev. Benjamin Marion Weaver was born February 7 somewhere in the time span of 1869 - 1873 on the county line dividing Pike and Spalding County, Georgia. He was a farmer, brick mason (specializing in building chimneys) and a Preacher. Very talented in all three areas, he became successful with his occupations and was known in the Tyus and Lowell, Georgia area where he lived as THE brick mason for any chimney building that needed to be done. He was equally outstanding as a Preacher and farmer. His wife, Georgia Lee Ann Folds, was born January 22, 1873 in Meriweather County, Georgia. She was the daughter and youngest child born to the marriage of John W. Folds and Priscilla Elizabeth Folds. A true Christian, Georgia Lee Ann Folds Weaver gave true meaning to the word "LADY". Cheerful and loving by nature, she was loved by all who knew her. Rev. Benjamin Marion Weaver was the son of Angus Weaver and Mary Frances (Fannie) Jones Weaver shown on the 1870 Pike County, Georgia census, the 1900 Carroll County, Georgia census and the 1910 Heard County, Georgia census. He was the grandson of Doctor F. Weaver and Louisa (last name unknown) shown on the 1850 Pike County, Georgia census and the 1860 Fayette County, Georgia census. Doctor F. died in the Civil War. Though Rev. Weaver had half brothers and sisters, he had only one brother. His name was Franklin and care should be taken in researching Franklin, because another Franklin was born very near to the same year. One re- searcher has him as Rev. Weaver's son buried in the Weaver cemetery in the small hamlet called Weaver in Pike County, Georgia. This is not Rev. Weaver's son. While the Weaver family of this biography did live in Pike County, they did not live in the small community called Weaver. That community was settled by James Weaver and his family of Fayette County who moved to Pike County. It is James Weaver's family who is buried there. The Weaver family of this article lived in a small community called Williamson in Pike County. Though it is thought there could be a re- lationship of some sort between James and Rev. Benjamin Weaver, that relationship has not been established. Rev. Benjamin Marion and Georgia Lee Ann Folds Weaver can be found on the 1900 Carroll County, Georgia census with their oldest child, aged 9, along with Georgia's mother, Priscilla Folds, aged 56 in the home with them. Rev. Benjamin Marion Weaver moved his family from the Tyus and Lowell area of Georgia to Colquitt County, Georgia, at some point of time after 1910. Rev. Benjamin Marion Weaver died May 7, 1949 and Georgia Lee Ann Folds Weaver passed away May 26, 1958. Both died in Colquitt County, Georgia and they are buried side by side in Hopewell Church Cemetery in Moultrie, Colquitt County, Georgia. They had nine children as follows: l. Lonnie Lee Weaver, born 8-2-1890 in Carroll County, Georgia, died May 9, 1962 in Colquitt County, Georgia, married November 19, 1907 in Carroll County, Georgia to Stephen Alexander (Steve) Carter, born April 18, 1856 in Randolph County, Alabama, died August 14, 1943 in Colquitt County, Georgia. Steve was the son of James J. Carter and Matilda Davis Carter of Tallapoosa County, Alabama. 2. John Angrish (Angus) Weaver, born November 13, 1893 in Carroll County, Georgia was the namesake of his grandfather, Angus M. Weaver.
