Tante Funeral Home   July 2008
William Marcus “Bill” Phillips, Jr., 87, of Buena Vista, Georgia died Monday, 
July 14, 2008 at Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale, Georgia.

A graveside funeral service was held Monday, July 21, at 12 Noon at 
Andersonville National Cemetery with Rev. Ray Gotko officiating, as well as 
full military honors. The family received friends Sunday afternoon at Tante 
Funeral Home in Buena Vista.

Mr. Phillips was born June 16, 1921 in Colquitt County, Georgia to William 
Marcus and Ida Hicks Phillips, Sr.  He was retired from the United States Air 
Force as a Major, having served honorably in World War II and Korea.  He was 
preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Nora Elizabeth Bullington 
Phillips.  

He is survived by a son Mark Phillips of Smyrna, Georgia and by two daughters 
Susan Dopp of Portland, Oregon and Bonnie Faye Ziegler (Larry) of Evansville, 
Indiana.  He is also survived by four grandchildren:  Jennifer Coolidge (Tom), 
Katherine Brill, Alison Brill, and Danielle Hogan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Alzheimer’s 
Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

Tante Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
