Hubert Bartow Watson Sr.



 
TIFTON — Hubert Bartow Watson Sr., 81, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, 
at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the 
chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Donnie Sloan will 
officiate with burial to follow at Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenox. 
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 
9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. 

Mr. Watson was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Worth County and was the son of Bartow 
Watson and Pauline Thompkins Watson, both deceased. He was also preceded in 
death by his wife, Laverne E. Yarbrough Watson, who died Feb. 7, 2007; one 
daughter, Betty Lynn Watson; and three brothers. He was a retired auto mechanic 
and served in the United States Army. He was of the Holiness faith. 

Mr. Watson is survived by seven sons, Billy Watson of Tifton, Donnie Watson, 
Buster Watson, Gary Watson, Wayne Watson, Jimmy Watson and Sammy Watson, all of 
Albany; four daughters, Linda Sue Chitwood of Sumner, Clara Lee Taylor of 
Chula, Candace Godbolt of Waycross and Tammy Watson of Albany; two brothers, 
Curtis Watson of Tifton and Gordon Watson of Moultrie; three sisters, Osceline 
Brooks, Emma Jane Miley and Louise Hamm, all of Norman Park; many 
grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
