Bishop mombalu@alltel.net ==================================================================== This is the record of THOMAS JONES (1755-1809) and his wife, ELIZABETH BOYD (1769-1836), my pioneer ancestors who lived in the Kiokee District of what became Columbia County, and their descendents. Records of court proceedings indicate they owned land "7 miles from Augusta, at the mouth of Red's Mill Creek." Unsuccessful attempts to pinpoint the exact spot lead me to believe their land is now part of the Clark Hill Reservoir. I would certainly appreciate any correspondence from others interested in this same family. He probably came from England and Elizabeth was probably his 2nd wife. D.A.R. record states he "owned fisheries". His land was located at the mouth of Red's Mill Creek on the Savannah River. I believe this page lists all of Thomas Jones and Elizabeth Boyd's children. Their last child, Samuel, is my great-great grandfather, whose marriage to Salina Ramsey produced the children: Thomas, Mary A., Charles Joseph (my great grandfather), Robert Samuel and Lizzie Lenora. These children's births are not recorded in this Bible, but their marriages are recorded here. See page 1. Elizabeth is 14 years younger than Thomas, her husband. DAR Record #101699 states she was his 2nd wife. "Cleveland" genealogical folder at GA Dept.
