Dunn Deed of Trust Registered 4th January 1858 State of Georgia Columbia County Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Blanchard of the County of Columbia and State of Georgia for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have for my Daughter Mary E. Dunn wife of James Dunn of County of Green and State aforesaid as well as for the sum of five dollars to me in hand paid by the said James Dunn at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do give grant and convey and by these presents do give grant and convey unto the said James Dunn in trust for the purposes hereafter mentioned the following named Negroes, to wit, Martha Marcia and Julia to have and to hold said Negroes for the following uses trusts and conditions (namely) for the joint use and maintenance of the said James Dunn and Mary E. his wife during their natural lives and after their death to go to and vest absolutely in the children of the said of the James Dunn and Mary E. Dunn but in no wise to be subject to the debts of the said James Dunn or any contracts that he may hereafter make or any that may have herefore made or contracted but to be held by the said James Dunn in trust as aforesaid for the joint support mentainace of the said James Dunn and his said wife Mary E. Dunn and should the said Mary E. and James depart this life leaving no issue then and in that case the aforesaid property (to wit) the Negroes herein named together with their issue to revert (to) the said Benjamin Blanchard or his Estate. In testimony whereof I the said Benjamin Blanchard have hereunto set my hand and seal this the twentyeth day of December one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven. Test.
