Dunn, Admr of Deed Elbert B. Dunn decd to Gabriel Jones Registered June 13th, 1838 Georgia Whereas the Inferior Court of the County of Columbia whene sitting for Ordinary purposes on the fourteenth day of March in the year eighteen hundred and thirty eight upon the application of Alfred J. Dunn Admr of Elbert B. Dunn deceased did pass an order for the sale of the real estate of said deceased hereinafter described (legal notice of such application having been first given in one of the public Gazettes of the state, to wit, in the Augusta Chronicle and Sentinel, for four months previous to the granting of the order aforesaid) and whereas the said Alfred J. Dunn administrator of Elbert B. Dunn decd. as aforesaid having first given sixty days notice of said sale and of the time and place thereof in the public Gazette aforesaid and at the door of the Court House in said County did on the first Tuesday of June in the year eighteen hundred and thirty eight at the place of public sales of the County aforesaid expose to sale at public auction under and by notice of the order aforesaid the premises hereinafter mentioned: and whereas the said premises were then and there knocked off to Gabriel Jones who was the highest bidder for the same at and for the sum of eight hundred dollars. Now this indenture dated the fifth day of June in the year eighteen hundred and thirty eight and in the sixty second year of the Independence of the United States of America between the said Alfred J. Dunn of the County of Columbia and State aforesaid administrator as aforesaid of the one part and Gabriel Jones of the County of Columbia and the State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Alfred J. Dunn Administrator as aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said Gabriel Jones his heirs and assigns all that moiety or one half part of four hundred and forty six acres of land belonging to the estate of the said Elbert B. Dunn decd (the other moiety thereof belonging to the aforesaid Alfred J. Dunn), situate lying and being in the County of Columbia and the State aforesaid on the waters of Greenbrier Creek estimated to be two hundred and twenty three acres adjoining lands of Juriah Harriss, James Flemming, the estate of Robert Pollard and others - the said tract of land having been bequeathed by Waters Dunn decd to his widow during her life and after her death to her children, Alfred J. Dunn and Elbert B. Dunn. To have and to hold the said bargained premises with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said premises being belonging or in anywise appertaining with the remainders rents issues and the profits thereof to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Gabriel Jones his heirs executors administrators and assigns in fee simple. And the said Alfred J. Dunn administrator aforesaid his heirs executors administrators and assigns the said bargained premises unto the said Gabriel Jones his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns against all persons claiming by from or under the said Elbert B. Dunn deceased or the said Alfred J. Dunn administrator as aforesaid but against no other persons whatsoever shall and will forever warrant and defend by virtue of these presents. In witness whereof the said Alfred J. Dunn administrator as aforesaid hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year last above written. Signed, Sealed and Delivered Alfred J.
