All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bob & Linda Ellis http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004075 February 12, 2010, 6:53 pm Written: January 17, 1817 Richard Dunn to David Stanford This Indenture made and entered into this seventeenth of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen between Richard Dunn of the State of Georgia and County of Columbia of the one part and David Stanford of the aforesaid County of the other part Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby truly acknowledged and the said Richard doth hereby grant bargain & sell to the said Stanford and his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred it being part of a tract of two hundred acres originally granted to William Ayres and sold to the said Richard and by the said Richard to sd Stanford and bounded as follows beginning at a white oak and running South seventy five west seven chains to a water oak thence south forty five east eight chains to a black jack thence south forty five West three chains to a hickry thence south twenty west fifty five chains and fifty links to a pine thence north seventy five east thirty seven chains and seventy five links to a water oak thence fifteen west fifty three chains and fifty links to the beginning having such form and shape as will more fully appear by a plat having reference thereunto being had. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the purpose being mentioned with any of their appurtenances unto the said David Stanford his heirs & assigns forever together with all and singular the premises and improvements thereunto belonging or in any wise belonging to the said tract of land and the said Richard Dunn doth hereby bind himself his heirs & assigns to warrant and defend said tract or parcel of land unto the said Stanford and his heirs forever against all claims or claim whatsoever in witness whereof the said Richard Dunn has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
