For & in consideration of the natural love & affection which I have for my niece Mary Pead wife of Joseph Pead both of the County of Lincoln & State aforesaid as well as for the sum of five dollars to me in hand paid by the said Joseph Pead at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do give grant & convey unto the said Joseph Pead in trust for the purposes hereinafter mentioned. The following named Negro to wit Siller, about ten years of age, to have & to hold said Negro for the following uses & trusts & conditions viz: for the joint use & maintenance of the said Joseph & Mary during their natural lives & after their deaths to go to & vest absolutely in the children of the said Joseph & Mary but in no wise to be subject to the debts of the said Joseph in any contracts that he may hereafter make or in any make or any that he may have heretofore have made or contracted but to be held by the said Joseph Pead in trust as aforesaid for the joint support & maintenance of the said Joseph & his wife Mary & should the said Mary & Joseph depart this life leaving no issue then & in that case the aforesaid property to wit the Negro herein named together with their issue to revert to the said Waters Dunn or his Estate. In testimony whereof I the said Waters Dunn have hereunto set my hand & seal this the second day of February 1857. Signed Sealed & acknowledged Waters Dunn in presence of us S. Crawford A. I.
