Averitt wife of I. N. Averitt Recorded February 1857 Georgia Columbia County Know all men these presents that I Waters Dunn of the County of Columbia and State aforesaid for & in consideration of the natural love & affection which I have for my niece, Francis E. Averitt wife of Isaac N. Averitt of the County & State aforesaid as well as for the sum of five dollars to me in hand paid by the said Isaac N. Averitt at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do give grant convey and by these presents do give grant & convey unto the said Isaac N. Averitt in trust for the purposes hereinafter named the following named Negro to wit Nancy a negro girl about seven years old. To have & to hold said Negro for the following uses trusts & conditions viz for the joint use & maintainance of the said Isaac N. Averitt & Francis E. Averitt during their natural lives & after their deaths to go to and vest absolutely in the children of the said Isaac N. Averitt & Francis E. Averitt but in no wise to be subject to the debts of the said Isaac N. Averitt or any contracts that he may hereafter make or any that he may have heretofor contracted but to be held by the said Isaac N. Averitt in trust as aforesaid for the joint support (&) maintainance of Isaac N. Averitt and his said wife Francis E. Averitt. Should the (said) Francis E. Averitt & Isaac N. Averitt depart this life leaving no issue then & in that case the aforesaid property to wit the Negroes herein named together with their issue to revert to the said WatersDunn. In Witness whereof I the said Waters Dunn have hereunto set my hand & seal this twenty ninth day of December in the year eighteen hundred & fifty six.
