All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bob & Linda Ellis http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004075 February 12, 2010, 7:01 pm Written: January 15, 1799 Recorded: January 31, 1800 Luis Friel to Waters Dunn – Deed for 230 Acres Recorded 31st January 1800 This Indenture made this fifteenth day of January in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between Lewis Friel of the State of Georgia and County of Columbia of the one part and Waters Dunn Junr. of the same state and county aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Lewis Friel for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and ninety two dollars and seven & a half cents to him well and truly paid by the said Waters Dunn at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold & confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Waters Dunn his heirs & assigns two hundred and thirty acres of land it being a part of three tracts of land one Surveyed by William Jones and the other two by John Friel which the plats and grants to the said land will shew and reference thereto may be had lying and being in the County of Columbia on the waters of Kegg Creek beginning on a Stake and red oak on Joseph Tankersly’s land thence north eighteen West to a stake on Jack or John Friel’s backline thence to a hickory corner on John Tankerslsy’s thence north seventy four East to a red oak South fifty four East to a hickory South twenty two and a half East to a pine corner on Andrew Weldings thence along his line to John Culbreath thence along Colbreaths line to a stake thence South seventy West to the beginning, Together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said tract of land being belonging or in anywise appertaining and the remainders reversions and issues & profits thereof and of every part thereof to have and to hold the said tract of land and all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging as aforesaid and every part thereof unto the said Waters Dunn his heirs and assigns against him the said Lewis Friel and his heirs & all and every other person or persons whatsoever ____ shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Lewis Friel hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. Lewis Friel Signed Sealed & delivered In presence John (I.E.) Received the day and year first above written of & from the within named Waters Dunn the sum of four hundred and ninety two dollars eight seven cents and a half being the consideration money within mentioned.
