Catharine Jones to William Jones   Deed 62 acres Recorded 24th October 1817

State of Georgia 
Columbia County 	This indenture made the twenty seventh day of August in 
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen between Catharine 
Jones of the state and county aforesaid of the one part and William Jones of 
the same state and County of the other part. Witnesses that the said Catharine 
Jones for and in consideration of the love and good will bears the said William 
Jones have hereby given granted released and confirmed and by these presents do 
grant, give, release and confirm unto the said William Jones his heirs and 
assigns all that tract or parcel of land situiate lying and being in Columbia 
County on waters of Germany’s Creek and being at a P. Oak   in the plat (which 
ought to be inserted a Red Oak ) Hunt’s Corner thence N 59 E 39 again as per 
platt with grant N 55 E5 to a white Oak Corner on Hunts and Sampler’s lines 
thence N33 W16 to a pine corner on Sampler’s line thence S55 W 25 again on 
Sampler’s line S 68 W 10.50 no corner mentioned thence S 68 W 10.50 to a corner 
but no tree mentioned in the plat thence S9 E 17.50 to the beginning corner and 
containing as per plat and grant sixty two acres of land granted to Richard 
Randolph by his Excellency Jared Irwin and registered in Book 5 folio 398  the 
28th November 1808.  The above described land I do by this instrument of 
writing relinquish all my right & title unto the said William Jones his heirs 
and assigns from me and my heirs and assigns forever.  In witness where of I 
have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written .

Jones went to Meriwether Co. William Jones appears to be another son
