Regt., near Richmond, Va., July 23rd, 1862. The Ramsay Volunteers, Company K, 16th Georgia regiment, being desirous of giving expression to their feelings relative to the loss of their late beloved Captain, R. J. Boyd- On motion, the following committee were appointed to draft suitable resolutions; Capt. R. A. Lansdell, Lieut. N. E. Benton, Geo. Paterson, and Geo. A. Darsey. The committee reported the following preamble and resolutions, which were unanimously adopted by the company: Whereas, it has pleased the Supreme Being in whose hands are all our destinies, to take from among us our beloved and respected Captain, who fell mortally wounded while gallantly leading his company in the charge of the first instant, and encouraging them by his noble and fearless example: Therefore, be it, Resolved, That while we bow in meek submission to the fiat of "Him who doeth all things well," yet being filled with a most sincere and heartfelt sorrow for the irreparable loss that we, as a company, have sustained, and feeling that his loss has created an aching void in our hearts that can never be filled, we adopt this means of publicly expressing (in some small degree) our appreciation of the high and estimable character of our late gallant commander. Resolved, That by his sterling integrity, strict impartiality, gentlemanly and courteous demeanor towards every member of his command, and above all, his refined and Christian example, challenged the emulation and respect of his company. Resolved, That the company deeply sympathize with his parents and relatives in their sad bereavement. Resolved, That a copy of these proceedings be forwarded to his parents, and that they be published in the Richmond Dispatch. Augusta papers please copy. Additional Comments: Captain Robert J.
