Pinkston, wife of G. B. Pinkston and daughter of George and Mary Chatfield. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for the last nine or ten years, and during that time her faith (like gold in the refiners furnace) had been perfecting through much tribulation; for seven or eight months immediately preceding her death, her suffering had been great and constant, but she was enabled by Divine grace to profit by them, and to feel that they were working together for good to her, and about two weeks preceding her dissolution (but when it seemed instantly impending) told the writer of this notice that she was sensible God had afflicted her in mercy, that her affections might be weaned from earth and fixed on heavenly objects. She also professed an entire willingness to submit to the will of her Heavenly Father either to live or die and be with Jesus, was better to than to live and again endure sorrows and contend with the temptations of this world. After she had lost the power of articulation, her aged father requested her if she felt at peace with God, and willing to die to signify it pressing his hand, this she did; and shortly after resigned her life into the hands of him who is “the resurrection and the life,” to them that believe in him. **Columbus Enquirer, 5 January 1833** **From Helena-Suzanne Shreve, G5Granddaughter of Greenberry & Adeline CHATFILED Pinkston through their son Dr. George Wesley & Cleora Camella Josephine DREWRY Pinkston to Frances Helena PINKSTON & Dr. John McCrary; Helen McCRARY & Luther Hill Randall Sr.; Helen McCrary RANDALL & William Clement Shreve & their son.** Additional Comments: I would love to talk to anyone researching any of the above surnames & share any information I have (do not have much on Pinkston's b/c Greenberry seems to have left Ga. after Adeline died & left grandfather George Wesley to be raised by his uncle Dr. John CHATFIELD-any Pinkston info. would be of great help).
