                         Mr. Claude M. Howell

                            Army retiree

 HEPHZIBAH --- Retired Master Sgt. Claude M. Howell, 67, died Wednesday, Sept. 
9, 1992, at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon.

 The funeral will be at 3pm today at Poteet Funeral Home, Windsor Spring Road, 
Augusta, with the Rev. David Majors officiating. Burial, with military honors, 
will be in bellevue Memorial Gardens, near Grovetown.

 Mr. Howell, a native of Cochran, had lived in the Augusta area for 26 years. 
He had retired from the Army and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, 
and the Vietnam War.

 Survivors include his wife, Lois S. Howell; a daughter, Patricia Johnson, 
Hephzibah; a sister, Kay Jesup, Hawkinsville; and three grandchildren.

 Pallbearers will be members of the military.

Claude was born 15 Nov 1924 to William Marion Howell and Eula E. Pace Howell 
who are buried in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens in Cochran, Ga. Georgia death 
certificate #036184
