Robert E Leonard Dies at Residence; Funeral Announced
Robert Ernest Leonard, 45 year old carpenter died suddenly at his home, 1725 
Starnes street yesterday afternoon at 1 :50 o'clock.  He suffered a heart 
attack.
Funeral services will be held at the Salvation Army citadel tomorrow morning at 
11 o'clock with Capt Cranford officiating.  Interment will follow in Old Union 
cemetery.
Legion members will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Leonard was a native of White Plains, GA, but had been living in Augusta 
for the past 25 years.  He was a World War veteran and member of the Richmond 
Post, American Legion.  He was also a member of the local carpenters union.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs Ethel Logan Leonard; two sons, Everet 
Leonard and Preston Leonard; two step sons, Echols Swetman and Etheredge 
Swetman, and four grandchildren.
