This file was contributed by: Pattie Causey pacausey@mindspring.com ==================================================================== JOHN BELL "State of Georgia Columbia County 22th October 1807 In the Name of god Amen, I John Bell being very sick and weak in body, but of Perfect mind and memory, thanks be given Unto god, therefore cawling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and testament that is to say Principally and first of all, I give and Recommend my sole into the hands of Allmighty god, And as Touching such Wordley Estate Wharewith it has pleased god to bless me in this life, I give and Dispose of the same In the following manner And form: First I give and bequath to Hugh Bell my son twelve head of cattle two head of horses twelve head of hoggs four beds and furniture; likewise all the household and kitchen furniture &C Second I give and Bequath to John Bell my son one Dollar, its my wish for my wife Marry to have the use of the Propperty her lifetime; Given under my hand and seal the day and year first above Written Test N.Whitcombe John Partrick (on right side) John (his mark) Bell Senr. (seal)" on back of will: 1807 "John Bell's last Will and testament" also a note: "Georgia Columbia County In the Court of Ordinary Notley Whitcombe one of the subscribing witnesses to the within instrument after being duly sworn saith that he saw John Bell in life subscribe and acknowledge the same to be his last will and testament and also saw John Patrick by the request of the testator subscribe the same with myself and that the testator was of sound mind and memory at the time of subscribing the same Sworn to in Open Court this 4th March 1815 Test A.
