Bowdre late of this county aforesaid died intestate having whilst he lived and at the time of his death divers goods chattels rights and credits within the said state by means wherof the full disposition and power of granting administration of all and singular the goods chattels rights and credits of the said deceased and auditing the accounts calculation and reckoning of the administration and a final settlement dismission of the same to the said court is manifestly known to belong they desiring that the goods chattels rights and credits of the said deceased may be well and truly administered converted and disposed of do hereby ordain depute and constitute you Edmund Bowdre administrator al all and singular the goods rights and credits of the said deceased with full power by the tenor of these presents to administer the goods rights and credits of the said deceased which to him in his lifetime and at the time of his death did belong and to ask leby and recover the same and to pay the debts in which the deceased stood obliged so far as the goods and chattels rights and credits will extend according to their rate and order prescribed by law and to make a true and perfect inventory thereof and to exhibit the same into the clerks office of the court ordinary within three months from the date hereof in order to be recorded and to render a just and true account calculation and reckoning of the said administration when thereunto required. Crawford. *********************************************** 1-17-1804 GEORGIA, COLUMBIA COUNTY Know all men by these presents that we Edmond Bowdre, Joseph DArsey, William Wilkins, Stephen Collins and Elias Lazenby are held and firmly bound to their Honors the Judges of the Court of Ordinay for said county, and their successors in office, in the sum of five thousand dollars to be paid to the said Judges or their successors to which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators inthe whole and for the whole, jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this seventeenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and four. The condition of the above obligation is such, that if the above bound Edmund Bowdre administrator of the goods and chattles, rights and credits of Richard B. Bowdre, late of this county, deceased to make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattles and crtedits of said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands or possession of the said Edmund Bowdre or in the hands or possesson of any other person or persons for him and and the same so made do exhibit into the office of said court of Ordinary when he shall be thereunto required and such goods, chattles and credits do well and tryly administer according to law, and do make a true and just account of his actings and doings therein when he shall be thereunto required by the said court of Ordinay for said county, and all the rest of the goods chattles and credits which shall be found remaining upon the account of the saidadministration the same being first allowed of by said court, shall deliver and oay to such person or persons respectively as are entitled to the same by law, and if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the same be proven before said court, and the executors obtain a certificate of the probate thereof, then the said Edmund Bowdre do in such case, if required, render and deliver up the said letters of administration then this obligation to be void. BOWDRE & EDWARD BOWDRE GEORGIA} Know all men by these presents that I, Edmond Bowdre of the County of columbia and state aforesaid am held and firmly bound unto Milly Bowdre, Joseph Darsey, Robert Bowdre, Benoni Bowdre, Samuel Bowdre and Thomas Bowdre of the State and County aforesaid in the sum of twenty thousand dollars to be paid to the said Milly Bowdre, Joseph Darsey, Robert Bowdre, Benoni Bowdre, Sameul Bowdre and Thomas Bowdre or their certain attorney, executors, administrators or assigns to which payment will and truly to be made and done. I bind myself my heirs, executors & administrators firmly to these presents sealed with my own seal and dated this 22nd day of January 1804. Whereas Richard G. Bowdre, late of the State and county aforesaid died intestae and without will and the said Richard in his life time and at the time of his death held jointly with the said Edmund Bowdre a considerable estaae in lands, negroes, stocks, etc. which said property both real and personal the said Edmund now claims as the brother and survivor of the said Richard that ws in their possession at the time of the death of the said Richard and whereas the aforesaid Milly Bowdre, Joseph Darsey, Robert Bowdre, Samuel Bowdre, Benoni Bowdre and Thomas Bowdre are the Mother, Brother-in-law and Brothers of the aforesaid Richard, deceased, and do set up a claim as the relatives of the said Richard, to a proportionable part of one moiety of the joint estate held by the same Edmund and Richard in the life time of the latter-and the aforesaid parties being desirious of amicable settling and adjusting all matters in dispute relative to these several claims on the undivided estate aforesaid have mutually chosen Samuel Bowdre, Thomas Bowdre, Levi marshall, William Beckham & James Simms arbitrators to determine whether the aforesaid Edmund Bowdre shall forever hold possession and enjoy the whole of the undivided estate, both real and personnal, jointly held by the said Edmund & Richard in the life time of the latter or whether the aforesaid Milly, Joseph Darsey, Robert, Samuel, Benoni & Thomas as the surving relations of the said Richard shall be entitled to and receive a proportionable part of one moiety of the aforesaid property jointly held and was in the possession of the latter-and the awarded of the aforesaid persons as the award of majority of them delivered in writing shall be final and conclusive. Now the condition of the foregoing obligation is such that if the aforesaid Edmund Bowdre do stand to perform and comply with the award and arbitrement of the aforesaid Samuel Bowdre, Thomas Bowdre, Levi Marshall, William Beckham, James Simms or the award of the majority of them relative to the estate both real and personal of the aforesaid Richard Bowdre, deceased, agreeable to the within, stipulation and agreement then the within obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. Whereas Richard G. Bowdre of the State and County aforesaid died intestate and without issue, and Edmund Bowdre, the brother of said Richard, claiming the whole of the estate borth real and personal which was jointly held by the said Edmund & Richard in the life time of the latter, and Milly Bowdre, Joseph Darsey, Robert Bowdre, Samuel Bowdre, Benoni Bowdre & Thoms Bowdre, the Mother, brother-in-law & brothers of the said Richard also claiing a proportionalbe part of one moiety of the estate aforesaid as the relatives of the said Richard, and the aforesaid parties being desirious of amicably settling all matters in dispute relative to the estate of the said Richard both real and personal have mutually chosen Samuel Bowdre, thomas Bowdre, levi Marshall, William Beckham & James Simms, to settle all matters in dispute, relative to the aforesaid estate and the aforesaid persons having met and after hearing the said parties relative to their respective claims on the estate both real & personal of said Richard G. Bowdre, do order and award that Edmund Bowdre, shall forever, hold & possess and enjoy the whole of the estate real and personal jointly held by the said Edmund & Richard Bowdre in the life time of the latter to the said Edmund Bowdre, his heirs and assigns forever-and we do further order and award that the aforesaid, Milly Bowdre, Joseph Darsey, Robert Bowdre, Samuel Bowdre, Benoni Bowdre, & Thomas Bowdre do on or before the first day of Marsh next deliver to the Edmund Bowdre, a written relinquishment of claims whatsoever to the estate, both real and personal of the said Richard G. Bowdre and we do further award & order that the bonds mutually given by the aforesaid persons each to the other to abide by our award. The sale commenced & ended 19th march 1804. 28 head of cattle purchased by Edmond Bowdre $31 Edmund Bowdre to Thomas Bowdre, Deed registered March 1, 1832}} Georgia} Columbia County} This indenture made this twenty eighth day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty one between Edmund Bowdre of the said State and County of the one part and Thomas Bowdre of the same sstate and county of the other part. Witnesseth whereas the said Edmund Bowdre was the joing owner of a tract of land hereinafter described that is to say the owner of one moiety of the same and Richard G Bowdre, late of the said county dedeased, the owner of the other moiety of the same and whereas also the moiety belonging to the said Richard G. Bowdre was conveyed by Francis Farrar the then sheriff of the said county to the aforesaid, Samuel Bowdre, in his life time by deed bearing date on the ninth day of August eighteen hundred and five, and whereas also the aid moiety of the said Edmund Bowdre was never conveyed to the said Samuel Bowdre, in his lifetime although he was sometimes before his decease at the time thereof in the possession and occupancy of the same. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Edmund Bowdre for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hererby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents doth, gratn bargain, seel and convey unto the said Thomas Bowdre, administrator of the said Samuel Bowdre, one moiety of the aforesaid tract of land containing in all two hundred acres, situate lying and being in the county aforesaid on the waters of the Kiokee Creed bounded by lands of Martin Dorsett, Lazenby, Gibson, Briscoe & Graves and originally granted to John Smith and by him conveyed to William Florence and by the administration of William Florence, conveyed to Richard G. and Edmund Bowdre in the life time of the former to have and to hold unto the said Thomas Bowdre, administrator, as aforesaid and his lawful assigns the said moeity of the said tract or pqarcel of land together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenancies thereunto belonging or in any wife appertaining so far as the said Edmund Bowdre was entitled to the same, and without any further warranty on his part. Bardens ******************************* Thomas Bowdre, Administrator of Samuel Bowdre, deceased to Irby Gerald Deed} REgistered March 1, 1832 Columbia County Georgia This indenture made this twenty ninth day of December Anno Domino One thousdand eight hudnred and thirty one between Thomas Bowdre administrator of the estate of Samuel Bowdre, deceased of the county and state aforesaid of the one part and Irby Gerald of the said State and county of the other part. Witnesseth, whereas the Honorable the Inferior Court of the said county, setting for Ordinay purposes upon application therefor, did by order of court on the eighteenth day of November eighteen hundred and twenty eight grant leave to the said Thomas Bowdre, administrator aforesaid to sell the real estate of the said Samuel Bowdre deceased in conformity with the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided; and whereas the said Irby Gerlad became the purchaser of the tract, or parcels of land herein described by bidding the highest price for the same when the same was exposed to public sale at the courthouse door of the said county, agreeable to law. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Thomas Bowdre, administrator aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to him in hand well and truly paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Irby Gerlad the following tracts or parcels of land, to wit: one tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county and state aforesaid on the waters of Kiokee Creek bounded by land of Martin, Dorsett, Lazenby, Gibson, Briscoe and Graves and originally granted to John Smith and by him conveyed to William Florence and by the administration of William Florence conveyed to Richard G. Bowdre and Edmund Bowdre one mooiety of which being the interest therein of Richard G. Bowdre was sold at sheriff's sale and conveyed to the said Samuel Bowdre by sheriff, decd, bearing date on the ninth of August in the year eighteen hundred and five and the other moiety of the same being the interest of the said Edmund Bowdre therein was many years ago sold and possession thereof given to the said Samuel Bowdre by the said Edmund Bowdre and a deed for conveying the title and giving the possession of the same was duly made and executed and bears date on the twenty eighth day of December eighteen hundred and thirty one by the said Edmund Bowdre to Thomas Bowdre administrator of the said Samuel Bowdre deceased, the two aforesaid mointies containing in all two hundred acres more or less. Also one other tract or parcel of land containing eleven acres more or less bounded at the time of survey by Elias Lazenby's land beginning at a post oak and running south sixty four degrees, easst forty forty four chains and seventy three links and conveyed to the said Samuel Bowdre by Elias Lazenby by decd. bearing dates on the first day of January eighteen hundred and nine. also one other tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county aforesaid on the waters of Big Kiokee Creek joining land of the said Samuel Bowdre on the south and lands of John Dorsett on the west and lands of Elias Lazenby on the north being the part of the tract of land whereon the said Elias Lazenby lived at the time of conveyance to Samuel Bowdre containing by estimation twenty six and one half acres bounded as follows beginning on a post oak Dorsett corner and running north 66 degrees east 10 chains and 75 links to a water oadk at a branch and down said brance to an ash corner thence south 88 west 15 chains and 50 links to a black oak corner thence south 62 degrees west 11 chains to a stake on Dorsett's line and from thence to the beginning and conveyed by the said Elias Lazenby to the said Samuel Bowdre by deed bearing date on the third day of march eighteen hundred and ten and also one other tract or parcel of land situate blying & being in the county aforesaid on the waters of Big Kiokee creek adjoining lands of Bowdre James & Leonard Martin & Elias Lazenby beginning on the said Bowdre's line near a branch & running north 54 degrees west 35 chains, 15 links to a post oak by Martin's fence thence north 39 degrees east 34 chains 50 links to a small dogwood on Leonard martin's line, thence south 50 east 13 chains 50 links to a pine on a line between said land & Elias lazanby's land thence south 26 degrees east 28 chains to a post oak then south 78 degrees west 3 chains & 50 links to a pine stump and from thence south 29 degrees east 6 chains 10 links to a large pine corner on said Bowdre's line, thence to the beginning containing by estimation one hundred and two acres more or less and conveyed by John Dorsett to the said Samuel Bowdre by deed bearing date the eleventh day of June eighteen hundred and ten. The aforesaid several tracts or parcels of land all lying and joining to each other and forming together the entire tract of land whereon the said Samuel Bowdre resided at the time of his decease. Together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances of every kind whatsoever unto the said several tracts or parcels of land belonging or any wise appertaining and also the reversions remainders, rents issues and profits thereof. To have and to hold the said several tracts or parcels of land and every part or parcel thereof unto the said Irby Gerald his heirs & assigns forever. And the said Thomas Bowdre as administrator as aforesaid and the heirs and representatives of the said Samuel Bowdre deceased the tracts of land and promises aforesaid and every part thereof against himself as administrators as aforesaid and the heirs of the said Samuel Bowdre deceased and all other persons whatsoever to the said Irby Gerlad and his heirs and assigns, does and will forever warrant and defend by these presents as administrator as aforesaid.
