I Elisha Bowdre being weak in body but perfect sound in mind and memory, calling to mind uncertainty of life, I ordane constitute this my last will and testament that is to say. After the interment of my body in a Christian like manner and all my debts are paid. Item I give and bequeath to my loving wife Milley all my real and personal property such as land, negros or any other part of my estate during the time she remains a widow but if she marries then I leave her one third or a childs part which even she chooses the remainder to be distributed in the following manner. Item As I have gave my three eldest sons Richard, Edmond and Robert to the value of ten pounds each and nothing to the rest of my children at the death of their mother or marriage I will that my five youngest children at the distribution of my estate shall have ten pounds more than my three eldest sons to make them all equal. I leave my wife executrix and my sons Richard, Edmond and Robert my executors of this my last Will and Testament where unto I have set my hand and seal this second day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety One. Elisha Bowdre Witnesses - R Steaveley Zachariah Spiers David Perryman Mr. Lewis Gardner Esquire, Register of Probate for the County of Columbia personally appeared Robert Steaveley, being one of the subscribing witnesses to the within last Will and Testament of Elisha Bowdre late of the County of Columbia / planter / deceased, and being duly sworn made oath that he was personally present and saw the Testator sign, seal, pronounce and declare the same to be and contain his last will and testament and that he was of sound, disposing mind and memory to the best of his knowledge and belief and that he signed his name as a witness to the said Will at the request and in the presence of the Testator and that he also saw Zachariah Spiers and David Perryman sign their names as witnesses to the same in the presence of the Testator. Sworn before me the 1st. day of September 1791 Robt. Steaveley Lewis Gardner R.P.C.C. personally appeared Zachariah Spiers being one of the subscribing witnesses to the within last Will and Testament of Elisha Bowdre deceased late of the County of Columbia / planter / and being duly sworn made oath that he was personally present and saw the Testator sign, seal, pronounce and declare the same to be and contain his last will and testament and that he was of sound mind and memory to the best of his knowledge and belief and that he signed his name as a witness to the said Will at the request and in the presence of the Testator and that he also saw Robert Steaveley and David Perryman sign their names as witnesses to the same in the presence of the Testator.
