BURT "Georgia Columbia County In the name of God - Amen I Mary H. Burt of the county and State sforesaid being of advanced age but of Sound and disposing mind and memory deem it best that I should dispose of the property with which a kind Providence has blessed me. therefore make this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills heretofore made by me Item 1st It is my will and desire that my body be buried in a christian like manner my soul I can best leave in the hands of my maker with the hope that I shall realize eternal life through the blood of our Savior Jesus Christ Item 2nd It is my will and desire that all my Just debts be paid as soon after my death as practicable Item 3rd I give and bequeath to Mary McNair wife of Dr. Robert McNair my parlor chairs the dressing stand in my parlor and the silver plated candle Sticks also in the parlor Item 4th I give unto William Avary Son of my brother Ambrose J. Avary one bedstead and bedding for the same Item 5th I give unto Madison? McNair Son of Dr. Robert McNair one bedstead and bedding for the same Item 6th All the rest and residue of my Estate both Real and personal which I now have or may hereafter have or in any manner acquire I give and bequeath unto my dear friend Peter Wright - in fee simple and my reason for making this gift to said Peter Wright is that said Peter has at all times devoted his time his interest and attention to me and to my late husband and I can only try to repay him for what he has done by leaving him the small amount of real and personal property I shall be possessed of at my death Item 7 I want it understood that I have not forgotten any of my Kindred while making this my last will & Testament and in disposing of my property I have acted from a sense of Justice. Item 8th I hereby nominate and appoint my friend Peter Wright executor to this my last will and Testament - It is also my will and desire that my friend Peter Wright take care of some of my family negores. viz.
