I Wyatt L Chamblin of the County of Columbia and State of Georgia being weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. Item 1st: I will and ordain that all my property both real and personal remain together in common for the use, benefit and behalf of my wife Prudence Chamblin and my children to wit: Nancy J. E. D. Chamblin, Augustus B. L. Chamblin, David D. A. Chamblin, William J. Chamblin and Robert Y Chamblin for the purpose of raising and educating my beloved children until the youngest arrives at age, with this provision that whenever one of them arrives at age or marries, my Executor shall cause such property to be valued as can be spared not overreaching a distribution and delivers the said property and takes a receipt then when the youngest to wit Robert Y arrives at age, I will and ordain that all my property both real and personal be equally divided between my beloved wife Prudence and all my children share and share alike taking care to enumerate that which has been given off. Item 2nd: If God in his providence should spare the life of my beloved wife and she should marry again then in that case I will and ordain that all my property both real and personal be equally divided between my beloved wife and all my children share and share alike. Item 3rd: I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Prudence Chamblin my Executrix and my friends John S. J. Evans and Alexander Pearre my Executors to this my last Will and testament. Jennings James Jennings this 9th August 1841 Wyatt L Chamblin (Seal) Georgia Columbia County} William J Evans and Charles H Jennings two of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing instrument after being duly sworn upon the Holy Evangellist depose and say that they were personally present and saw the testatory Wyatt L Chamblin in life sign seal pronounce and declare it to same to be his last Will and testament that the testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory at the doing thereof and that themselves together with James Jennings signed the same as witnesses all done in the presence and of the request of the testator and in the presence of each other. William J Evans Charles H Jennings Sworn to in open court this 6th day of September 1841 G Jones, Clerk Georgia Columbia County} By the Court of the Ordinary for said County. To all whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye, that on the sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one the last Will and testament of Wyatt L Chamblin late of said County deceased was exhibted in open court and in common form of law proved & omitted to record a copy of which is herunto annexed and administration of all and singular the goods and chattels and credits of said deceased was granted to Prudence H Evans the Executrix in and by said Will named and appointed she having first taken the oath and performed all other requisites required by law of her by order of said Court and by virtue of these presents legally authorized to administer the goods, chattels and credits of the deceased according to the term and effect of the said Will and testament and according to law. And is hereby required to render a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased and appraised and returned to this Court according to law and to render a true and correct account to the said Court of her actings and doings yearly and every year until her administration is fully completed.
