Thomas’s grandfather was j. n. cliatt who “elected to take the six hundred dollars for a college education, he studied medicine and became a well known doctor in Memphis, tenn. “My grandfather married Julia Watson of Thomson, ga, sister to Thomas e. Watson. My father, Harold w. cliatt was their only son. State of Georgia Columbia county in the name of god, amen This Feb 5, 1921 I, j. l. Cliatt of said state and county do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills made by me. Item one. I give and bequeath to my wife, martha m. cliatt all of the property both real and personal that i did possessed of for and during her natural life to be used by her for her sole use and benefit she to have the right to sell buy and any of the personal property as she may desire but for her personal interest. Item 2nd. At the death of my wife, martha m. cliatt it is my will that all of said property both real and personal be equally divided between all of my children, to wit: b.f. cliatt, rosa l fortson, d.c. Cliatt, a.s. Cliatt, and heirs, leila m Ramsey, to wit: m. c. laurance, j. m Burnside, e. a. Irving, h. c. Ramsey, jr. j.t.r. Ramsey, ellie m. hardens, c.e. Cliatt, c.c. Cliatt, j. t. cliatt. item 3rd. Having given to my son b.f. cliatt (135) one hundred and thirty-five acres of land more or less as being a part of my home place, deeded to him Jan 20, 1907, being his entire share of my estate. item 4th. Having loaned my son, j. n. cliatt six hundred dollars for which i have his note signed, sealed dated Jan 24, 1899 due 12 mo after date at 4% interest (per annum) and in a final division he, j. n. cliatt, is to get one hundred dollars, $100.00, the same being his entire share of my estate. item 5th. Having loaned my son, a. s. cliatt three hundred and twenty- five ($325.00) dollars for which i hold his note signed, sealed, and dated Dec 24, 1910 bearing interest from November after date at 8 percent per annum. I also hold receipt from a. s. cliatt, bearing date march 28, 1921 for $400.00, four hundred dollars and he a. s. cliatt, is to get $200.00, two hundred dollars: the same being his share (entire) of my estate in a final division. item 7: having loaned my son, c. e. cliatt $1100.00, eleven hundred dollars, for which i hold his note, signed, sealed and dated oct 8, 913. This amount is to be his, s. c. cliatt’s, entire share of my estate in a final division. item 9 (item 8 omitted) I will and bequeath to my daughter, effie ma hardin, lot # 2 on home place containing 124 1/2 acres land more or less as se platt a.g. Porter, surveyor, Nov 30, 1918 this amount to be her entire share of my estate in a final division. See Platt 9 deed book 57, page 122. item 10: i will and bequeath to my con c. c. cliatt lot no 3 on home place containing 122 acres of land more or less as per platt a.g. Porter surveyed Nov 30, 1915 above is to be his entire share of my estate in final division. I give the deed and platt to my son d. c. cliatt lot no 5 by 12, sept 1, 1925 - signed sealed, delivered on w.m. Willingham’s place containing 115, one hundred and fifteen, acres platt appears on record a. g. porter surveyed Dec 1, 1915. item 11: i will and bequeath to my son, j. t. cliatt lot no 4 on home place containing 184, one hundred eighty four acres, more or less on old cliatt home place, as per platt a. b. porter surveyed nov 30, 1915. The same is to be his entire share of my estate upon a final division. item 13: i will and bequeath to my son, r. l. cliatt lot no 6 on willingham place containing 119, one hundred nineteen , acres of land more or less, as per platt a. g. porter surveyed. The same turned over to r. l. cliatt the 23rd day of October 1922, the same being his entire share of my estate upon a final division. item 14: i will and bequeath to my grand children lot no 7 on willingham place containing 121, one hundred twenty-one, acres more or less, as per platt a. g. porter surveyed dec 1, 1915. item 15: i will and bequeath to my daughter rosa l. fortson lot no 1 on home place containing 186 1/2, one hundred eighty six and one half, acres of land, more or less, per platt a. b. porter surveyed nov 30, 1915, the deed to her made aug 18, 1924 - the same being her, rose l. fortson’s entire share of my estate upon a final division. Item 16: i hereby will and bequeath all my personal effects after doctor bills and other expenses are paid to be equally divided between all of my children except b. f. cliatt who have received their full partition of my estate both real and personal. r. l. to have one bed and bed steed, one mattress and two pillows. j. l. cliatt signed, sealed, declared and published by j. l. cliatt as his last will and testament in the presence of the undersigned witnesses.
