This file was contributed by: Pattie Causey pacausey@mindspring.com ==================================================================== HENRY EVANS (will 1801, probate 20 Dec 1802) "The twenty first day of November in the year of our Lord Christ eighteen hundred and one I Henry Evans of the State of Georgia & Columbia County calling to mind the certainty of death & uncertainty of life, & being sick of body; but of good & sound mind & Memory do make Constitute ordain & declare this my last Will & Testament Revoking & annulling by these presents all & every Testament or Testaments Will or Wills heretofore by me made & declared either by word or Writing & this is to be taken only for my last Will & Testament & no other And for the settling of my temporal estate I do give order & dispose of the sam in the Manner & form following To wit first I will that all these debts & dues that I owe in right or conscience to any person or persons shall well & truly contented & paid or ordained to be paid within a convenient time after my decease by my Executors hereafter to be named ---- ----- Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth Evans all that tract or parcel of land & Plantation whereon I now live during her Natural life & at her death as hereafter mentioned & I give unto her two Negroes to wit Luke & Henney all the plantation tools all the horses except the Taylor bay horse one feather bed & furniture to her, her heirs & Assigns forever. Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved son Henry Evans all that tract or parcel of land & plantation whereon I now live after the decease of his Mother, one bed & furniture one bay horse (called Taylor) one Negroe by the name of Jack one Shotgun I got of Richard King to him his heirs & Assigns for ever - Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved son John Evans one negroe by the name of Jim, one feather bed & furniture & the Shotgun that I had of Md. Athey to him his heirs & Assigns for ever --- Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved my daughter Mildred Evans, one Negroe girl Sill, one feather bed & furniture, one red heifer earling? called Chance to her & her heirs & Assigns forever - Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter Susannah Evans one Negroe girl Phebe, one bed & furniture five head of cattle & their future increase known in the family & called hers to her & her heirs and Assigns for ever---- -- Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter Polly Evans one Negroe girl Nan, one feather bed & furniture to her & her heirs & Assigns for ever---- Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter Letticha? King one Negroe girl Hannah to her her heirs & assigns for ever----- Item I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Hanson one Negroe boy Moses to her & her heirs & assigns for ever------ Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Barnes one Negroe boy Will to her & her heirs & Assigns for ever---- Item my will & desire is that all the other part of my estate Real & personal both movable & immovable that I now possess or hereafter may be possessed with at my decease not heretofore mentioned in this Will & disposed of as therein mentioned shall be sold at publick Auction & be equally divided between my beloved children whose names have been heretofore mentioned share & share alike to them & their heirs & assigns for ever - Lastly my Will & desire is that my son Henry Evans Thomas Hanson Senr. and John Foster be my Executors to carry this my last Will & Testament into full execution & to make & duly Execute legal Titles to the Real & personal estate when by them sold by Virtue of this Will Ratifying & confirming whatsoever my said Executors shall lawfully do in the premises.
