WILLIAM GAY

"State of Georgia
Columbia County In the name of God Amen I William Gay of the county & state 
aforesaid being possessed of a sound disposing mind & memory do make ordain & 
appoint this testament in writing to be my last will & testament

Item first it is my will & desire that all my just debts be paid out of my 
estate by my executor hereafter to be named

Item second I give & bequeath unto my Son Benjamin F. Gay the sum of five 
dollars in cash and no more

Item third I give & bequeath unto my daughter Nancy ellen Anderson the sum of 
five dollars cash and no more

Item Fourth I give & bequeath unto my wife martha jane gay and my children & 
Aires? Thomas H. Gay james I. Gay john F. Gay William A. J. Gay Mary Louise 
Gay martha jane Gay westly columbus Gay and lovet? bryant gay the balance of 
my estate both real & personal together with all mony on hand at the time of 
my death to be equally devided betwen them Sheare & Sheare alike at the death 
of my said wife or on the inter marriage provided there is any of the 
children that is not raised at her death or intermarriage my estate shall be 
sold and the mony put out on intrest and these children to be raised up on 
the interst

Item fifth if I shall any future child or children bornd then in that case it 
is my will that they have an equal Share with my wife & children made in the 
fourth clause of my will

Item sixth I nominate and appoint my wife martha jane gay my execater to 
carry into affect this my last will & testament hereby revoking all former 
wills made by me

in testimony whereof I have hereinto set my hand and Seal this the twenty 
secnd day of august in the year of our lord one thousand eighteen hundred & 
sixty three
