Hicks, late of this county deceased as one of the principal creditors ?? your petition **** ever pray. William Harris June 17, 1805 ************************* 9-2-1805 Georgia} Columbia County} I, William harris, do solemnly swear that Edmond b. Hicks, deceased, died without any will as far as I know or believe and that I wil well and truly administer all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of the said deceased and pay all his jut debts as far as the same will extend and the law requires me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods and chattels rights & credits of the said deceased and a just return thereof when required. The condition of the above obligation is fuch, That if the above bound, William Harris, administrator of the goods and chattles, rights and credits of Edmund B. Hicks late of this county, defeased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and fingular the goods, chattles and credits of faid deceafed, which have or fhall come to the hands or poffeffion of the faid William Harris or in the hands of poffession of any other perfon or perfons for him and the fame do made, do exhibit into the office of faid court of Ordinary when he fhall be thereunto required, and fuch goods, chattles and credits do well and truly adminifter according to law, and do make a true and juft account of his actings and doings there-in when he fhall be thereunto required by the faid court of Ordinary for faid county, and all the reft of the goods, chattles and credits which fhall be found remaining upon the account of the faid adminiftration, the fame being firft allowed of by faid court, fhall deliver and pay to fuch perfon or perfons refpectively, as are entitled to the fame by law, and if it shall hereafter appear that any laft will and teftament was made by the faid deceafed, and the fame be proved before fiad court, and the executors obtain a certificate of the probate thereof, then the faid William harris do in fuch cafe, if required, render and deliver up the faid letters of adminiftration, then theis obligation to be void. Hicks, deceafed, where foever any of the goods and chattels of the faid deceafed, are or do remain within the faid parts and palces, and which fhall be fhewn unto you by the faid administrator and there view and appraife all and every, the faid goods and chattels, being firft fworn on the holy evangelifts of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory and appraifement thereof, and to caufe the fame to be returned under your hands or any three or more of you to the faid appraiser within three months from the date hereof.
