Julian Berry Lamkin, of the County of Columbia and State of Georgia, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and discretion, do now publish and declare this instrument in writing to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all wills and testaments heretofore made. Item 1. It is my will and desire and I hereby direct my Executor herein after named as soon as practicable after my decease, to pay any and all just debts I may leave unpaid at the time of my death. Item 2. To my wife Lula Benton Lamkin formerly Mary Lula Benton, wife of Julian Berry Lamkin of Columbia County, Georgia, I give devise and bequeath the following property or plantations, tracts, or parcels of land situated, lying and being in County of Columbia and State of Georgia and known and containing as follows, that is to say, the Home or Hardwick Tract containing nine hundred acres of land, be the same more or less: the School House Tract containing eight acres of land, be the same more or less, together with all and singular the appurtenances and improvements to the same tracts or plantations belonging or in anywise appertaining and also all and singular the mules, horses, cattle, stock, wagons, agricultural implements, vehicles and crops, whether harvested or growing, which I own upon said plantations or tracts of land, and each and all of them: also all claims and demands whether in the form of notes, open accounts or liens which I have and own against the laborers, rents and ---- upon said plantations and tracts of land, and each and all of them, also all of my household and kitchen, furniture, bedding, books, pictures, silver, plates, china, crockery, cutlery, and all personal property of every sort and kind belonging to me, now being in my residence on the Home or Hardwick place aforesaid and appertaining to the same and to the other plantations and tracts of land above mentioned and each of them to hold during her life, and at her death to go to my children, Ethel and Daisy, share and share alike. Item 3. To my children, Ethel Lamkin Davenport and Daisy Lamkin, I give devise and bequeath the following plantations, tracts, and parcels of land lying and being in County of Columbia and State of Georgia, and known and containing as follows: the plantation known as the Berry place or tract containing thirteen hundred acres of land be the same more or less, the McLean tract containing forty acres, be the same more or less, together with all and singular the appurenances and improvements to the same tracts or plantations belonging or in anywise appertaining and also all and singular the mules, horses, cattle, stock, wagons, agricultural implements, vehicles, and crops, whether harvested or growing, which I own uopn said plantations or tracts of land and each and all of them. Also all claims and demands, whether in the form of notes, open accounts or liens, which I have and own against the renters upon said plantations and tracts of land and each and all of them. Item 4. At the death of Ethel, her share to revert to her children, share and share alike - in the event of no children, Ethels share to go to Daisy. Item 5. At the death of Daisy, her share to revert to her children, share and share alike - in the event of no children, Daisy's share to go to Ethel. Item 6. I wish it understood that I want my son Robert Hugh Lamkin well provided for. Should both Ethel and Daisy die without heirs, their property must go to my son Hugh, a Guardian to be appointed by Court. In the event of the death of either Ethel or Daisy, or both, I wish their Estates as bequeathed in Item 3 to contribute equally to his, Robert Hugh Lamkin's, support, as stipulated in Item 7. Item 7. During the life of Ethel and Daisy, they each must give fifteen dollars per month for his maintenance over and above what he consumes must be placed in the a Bank subject to the order of his Guardian. In the event of illness, Ethel and Daisy to contribute each thirty dollars per month for his support. Item 8. I bequeath to my wife's niece, Julia Wilson Smith, one hundred dollars, realizing how difficult it will be for my wife to settle up my Estate, I feel that this is all I can afford to give said Julian W. Smith. Item 9. I hereby appoint my beloved wife, Lula Benton Lamkin, Guardian for my son, because I do not think he, Robert Hugh Lamkin, is competent to manage his Estate. In the event of the death of my wife, Lula Benton Lamkin, I appoint as his guardian my daughter Ethel Lamkin Davenport. In the event of Ethel's death I next appoint Daisy Lamkin his Guardian during her life. Item 10. I do hereby constitute, ordain and appoint my beloved wife, Lula Benton Lamkin, Executrix of this my last Will and Testament with full power to carry the same and every part thereof into full and complete effect. Copelan Georgia Columbia County, I W. L. Rountree do swear that I as well as W. K. Hardy and L. T. Copelan saw the within named Julian B. Lamkin sign and publish the within attached paper as his last will and testament that I subscribe the same as witness thereto at the special instance and request of the said testator and in his presence as did also W. K. Hardy and L. T. Copelan in the presence of testator and of each other: that the said testator signed the same freely and -------, and was at time of such signing of sound and disposing mind and memory. ------- and subscribed before me this 3rd day of May, 1915.
