Amen, I Joshua Sanders of the State of Georgia and County of Columbia considering uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, blessed be God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say: First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Patience Sanders two hundred acres of land I the County of Columbia including the house and plantation wherein I now live, one hundred acres thereof granted to John Hind and the other one hundred acres granted to me. Together with all my stock of cattle, horses, hogs, waggon, plantation tools & all my household and kitchen furniture & after her death to My son Jeremiah Sanders except the yellow bay Mare and the blaze mare which I give to her to dispose of at her own will and pleasure and I further give unto my loving wife Patience Sanders. The following negroes, to wit Tom, Dinah & her child Pat, Hannah, and Jude during her natural life and after her decease I give unto my Son Nathan, Tom & to my Daughter Patience Trip, (Dinah) and her child Pat and to my son Mark, Hannah and to my son Reuben, Jude. I give and bequeath to my gran daughter Polly Cade two negroes Charly & Samson and one hundred dollars in cash to remain in the care of my son Jeremiah Sanders until she arrives of age or marriage, but in case of her death without an heir, Charly returns Keziah Sanders, Samson to Polly Trip. I bequeath to My Gran Son William Sanders one negro boy called Ned. I bequeath to my gran daughter Patience Sanders one negro boy named Tom. And lastly I appoint my son Mark Sanders and my beloved wife Patience Sanders and Robert Johns executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me made. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand & seal this 5th day of December 1799 signed sealed, published, declared by the above named Joshua Sanders to be his last will and testament in the presence of all who have hereunto subscribed our names in the presence of the testator. Robert Johns & William Ashmore personally came into court and after being duly sworn on the holy gospel of God saith that the within instrument of writing is the last will and testament of Joshua Sanders deceased, and that at the time of signing the same he was of sound Mind and Memory and that they did sign the same in presence of each other.
