I Susannah Wilkins of the County of Columbia and State aforesaid being of Sound mind and disposing memory do make and ordain this my last Will and testament in manner and form following that is to say, First. I desire my Executor hereinafter named to pay all my just debts as soon as the same can be conveniently done after my death; Secondly. I give and bequeath to my son David Wilkins the Sum of One dollar to him and his heirs forever. Third I give and bequeath to the children of my Son Joseph Wilkins deceased the sum of one dollar to them and their heirs forever. Fourth I give and bequeath to my son William Wilkins the sum of one dollar to him and his heirs forever. Fifth I give and bequeath to my Daughter Martha Holsenbeck Wife of Marshall Holsenbeck the sum of one dollar to her and her heirs forever. Sixth I give and bequeath unto my son John Wilkins my negro woman Maria about forty years of age and her four children, Nelson about ten years of age, Phebe about seven years of age Moses about five years of age and Marshall about two years of age; one Brass clock one yoye of oxen one Waggon and Gear; household and Kitchen furniture, to him and his heirs forever. Lastly. I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Son John Wilkins Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all other Wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In Witness whereof the said Susannah Wilkins has hereunto set her hand and seal this ninth day of May 1849 Signed Sealed and published by the testatrix in presence of Gamwell Flanagin Catharine C. Yarbrough J.D. McNair (on right side) Susannah (her X mark) Wilkins (Seal)" There is a form letter signed by John Wilkins saying he will faithfully execute the will, etc., dated 11 Sep 1849. On outside of will on one side: "Susannah Wilkins Will" and: "Recorded in Book X Wills folio page 206 this 12th September 1849 Jno. A. Stapler Clerk" also on back of will is the proof of the will with signatures of witnesses dated September 1849 (day may be 18th - it is hard to read) __________________
