This file was contributed by: Pattie Causey pacausey@mindspring.com ==================================================================== WILLIAM WILKINS "Wm Wilkins Being seized with a Violent Sore Throat Which Seems to increase With That rapidity that leaves doubts Whether I may survive it or not And being anctious for the best of Causes to make a Will And altho so greatly afflicted I know that I do retain my perfect Senses and altho I cant make a Will at length as I otherwise wanted to I pronounce this to be my Will first I will that all my debts which are Just be paid by my Son out of my estate who I shall hereafter appoint my Sole Executor Item I will that my Executor pay to my beloved daughter Betsey Olive three thousand dollars & that he have three full years after my death to pay the said Sum of three thousand dollars I also give to my sd daughter Betsey Oliver the tract of land Where on She now lives the Whole afsd tract as far down as a branch between where Berry Olive Now lives & my plantation also my gig & grey mare & ? girl Liza to her & to the heirs of her body I give to my daughter Polley Turner the Sum of three thousand dollars to be paid her in Cash or property as She & my executor may agree But my Said beloved daughter is Not to receive her legacy of three thousand dollars until after the expiration of three years from & after my death and altho my Son in law John Bynaum has subjected me to the payment of a larger Sum of money to Mckineys & Bennet by my being Security for him to them and also Created many other large debts While doing Business at Columbia Court house With my Son Say? The firm o! f Bynaum & ? Which Debts are yet unpaid nor has he left any funds to pay debts with and I am truly sorry to say that he has acted toward me ill naturedly & ungreatfull in the extreem yet I feel for my poor Child his Wife and do give to her my said daughter Charity By name two thousand dollars to be paid to her in the following manner five hundred dollars Within one year after my disalution & five hundred dollars yearly for the next three years. I also give her my daughter Charity my Bill? And? Coalt & four Cows & Calves also my Negroe Woman now in her possession by the name of ? I give to my beloved & only Grand Son William B. Maddox two Negroe Girls Priscilla & Matilda children of Teaner also two hundred two & a half acres of land in monroe County Granted to John Hall also one good horse Saddle & Bridle & one hundred dollars worth of Sutable Stock all to be paid to him on his arriveing at the age of twenty years & I also Will that the said William B. Maddox be raised & educated at the expense of my estate & under the Cear of my Executor And I Will to my beloved Son William F. Wilkins the Whole of my Estate Not other Wise bequeathed both real & personal by him to be owned and fully enjoyed from & amediately after my death and I further Will that my Son & Executor have full power to Sell any part of my Estate eather real or personal at his own discretion without the Necessity of first obtaining leave of the Court of ordinary or any other power Whatever and I do hereby Nominate Constitute & apoint my only Son William F. Wilkins my Sole executor to this my last Will revoking & Nullifying all other or former Wills ratifying this only Signed Sealed & Acknowledged in the presents of this 23rd March 1824 M.Verdery S.
