Gregory June M. Gregory, M. D. came to Adel to live with his uncle, Mr. June Chestnutt and attended Stonewall Academy. At age xicteen, he hitch-hiked freight trains to Texas. He worked there for several years, going to night school to get more education. He returned to Georgia and taught school with Mr. Chestnutt in Sparks. At the insistence of his uncle he entered medical college in Atlanta. Upon graduation, he practiced in Cecil and the following years moved to Adel. He was married tp Miss Neziheue Williams of Colquitt County. Their sons were Minnis Hayes and Marshall, and a daughter, Vera.
