Dr. Schnauss was born in Enigma. He was a graduate of Sparks Collegiate Institute, the University of Georgia Medical School and the Academy of General Practitioners. He served as a Captain in the Medical Corps during World War I. He contributed both his time and money to the establishment of the present Memorial Hospital of Adel. He was a member of the American, Florida, Georgia and Duval County Medical Societies. He was active in the Masons. Dr. Schnauss made his home in Jacksonville after leaving Adel in 1947. He had many friends among the people of Cook County.
