The Atlanta Semi-Weekly Journal November 21, 1913
Cecil, Ga., Nov. 20 -- Gordon Bennettt, twenty-five years old, blew his head 
off with a shotgun yesterday at his father's home three miles from Cecil.  He 
had been despondent and his father, fearing he would take his life, locked up 
his gun before leaving the place.  Young Bennett smashed open the door with an 
axe and got the gun.  The coroner's jury returned a verdict of suicide.
