 Thelma T. Bennett, 80, of Adel died September 6, 2006 at Memorial Hospital of 
Adel.
  Born April 29, 1926 in Chappells, SC, to the late Simon and Susie Josie 
Taylor, she was a retired sales clerk for B.C. Moore's and Allied. She was a 
member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was married to the late Walter "Buddy" 
Jackson Bennett.
  Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, J.G. and Debra Bennett of 
Adel, Jack and Susan Bennett of Nashville; one daughter and son-in-law, Paula 
and Bobby Shierling of Adel; one brother, Lamar Taylor of Clarksville; one 
sister, Nelma Hall of Benoit, MS; one stepbrother, Grover Avera of Lake Lakes, 
FL; one stepsister, Betty Patten of Lenox; grandchildren, Stacey and Scott 
McDowell, Clay Shierling, Steven Bennett, Matthew, Emily and Mitchell Bennett, 
all of Adel, Chad and Kathy Bennett of Valdosta; five great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held September 8 at 2 p.m. at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home 
Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Russey and Gary James officiating. Jereanna Hargett 
served as pianist.
  Interment was in Fellowship Church Cemetery.
  Pallbearers were Clay Shierling, Matthew Bennett, Scott McDowell, Mitchell 
Bennett, Chad Bennett, Steven Bennett.
  Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
