 Eleanor Brown, 80, of Adel died Aug. 23, 2010 at Berrien County Hospital.
 Born Sept. 12, 1929 to the late Melgie and Lula Brown Rountree. She was a 
member of Massee Baptist Church and was a caretaker before retiring.
 Survivors include her daughter, Shelia Daughtrey of Sparks; seven 
grandchildren, Samantha and Nicky Griffin of Sparks, Donnie and Robin Brown of 
Sparks, J.W. and Teresa Brown of Nashville, Julie and DeWayne Mathis of Adel, 
James and Jenny Hood of Adel, Michael and Angelicia Hood of Adel and Jeffrey 
Hood of Sparks; great grandchildren, Corey Fisher, Justin Southerland, Leigh 
Crawford, Kayla Mathis, Angel Hood, Austin Mathis, Skylar Brown, Mickey Hood 
and expecting another baby girl Hood; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Brown of 
Nashville. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D.Brown and her son D
Donald Brown.
 Funeral services were held August 25 at Massee Baptist Church with Rev. 
Stanley Hendricks, Bro. Jerry Joiner and Bro. Jessie Henderson officiating. 
Music selections were “Amazing Grace,” “I Fly Away,” and “When The Roll is 
Called Up Yonder” by Phil Gibbs and pianist Betty Gibbs. “Go Rest High on That 
Mountain” and “Sissy’s Song” were played on CD.
 Interment followed at Long Bridge Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Donnie Brown, J.W. Brown, Michael Hood, J
James Hood, Jeffrey Hood, Corey Fisher, Justin Southerland.
 Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Richard Wheeler, Tim Purvis, Lloyd Tribble, 
Jessie Henderson, Earl Pafford, D.C. Tunison.
 Purvis Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
