Born March 8, 1931, to the late Henry Hilton and Tonnie Nita Bennett Goff, he served in the United States Army as a Sgt. First Class during the Korean War, Heart Break Ridge and Punch Bowl Battles. He received the Purple Heart and numerous other medals. He was a Calvary Holiness preacher for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Griner Goff, whom he was married to for 57 years; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra and John Raiford Walker and Shirley Ray, all of Lenox; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Debi Goff of Cecil; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Lokey of Lenox, Betty and Carol Call of Sparks, Louise and Preston Williams and Reba and Gerald Bennett, all of Lenox, Marie and Sam Hogan of Tifton, Patricia and Donald Eason of Nashville, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and special friend, Robbie McBrayer of Lenox. Funeral services were held August 19 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Kyle Taft and Johnny Woods officiating. Musical selections by Donnell Sellars, Rev. Kyle Taft and Gene Culpepper were "God's Amazing Grace," "God's Promise Land," and "I Firmly Promise You." Interment followed in the church cemetery with a military service. Military personnel served as active pallbearers and serving as honorary pallbearers were Eston Rentz, Bobby Plymel, Donald Eason, Gene Gibson, Kyle Bubba Robinson, Darrell Webb, Oklan Myers, Freddie Stone, Jesse Bennett and Calvary Holiness Ministries members.
